![]() Tournaments help students gain the confidence they need to be able to perform under pressure. It reveals their current level and the necessary corrections they need to achieve before becoming consistent contenders. Since preparation is a major part of golf, one of the roles of the Instructor is to assist students in developing routines for on and off the golf course. Formalized routines make for more consistent play. Simple objectives like being on time, having the right equipment, benefiting from a practice round, knowing the correct yardage and green depths are essential to lower scores and are stressed as a part of the JPGA student preparation. Beyond this, students are taught how to play in all types of adverse conditions during tournament play.

The FCWT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
committed to helping young men and women in
their pursuit of earning a college scholarship
through the challenge of competitive golf. Purpose: To provide a venue of nationally-ranked junior golf tournaments for the junior golfer. History: The FCWT enters its 11th season of competition in 2007-2008. Venues: The FCWT offers over 65 tournaments throughout the country. Players: Boys and Girls ages 18 and under can participate, playing against their peers on courses set up fairly, yet offering a challenge to all. Staff: The FCWT Tournament Directors are all golf professionals who enjoy helping junior golfers move their game to the next level. Honorary Division Chairs: Jim McLean has been the honorary chairperson for the Boys division since 2000. Laura Diaz has been the honorary chairperson for the Girls division since 2003. | |
