Spotlight: Chase Brisebois, Owen Murphy, and Eduardo De Leon Tie for Third at the 2026 Jekyll Island Fall Junior Open
ELEVEN JPGA GOLFERS COMPETED IN THE BOYS 16-18 FIELD

Three JPGA golfers shared the podium at the same spot this weekend. Chase Brisebois, Owen Murphy, and Eduardo De Leon all finished tied for third in the Boys 16-18 division at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Jekyll Island Fall Junior Open, carding matching 36-hole totals of 149 (+5) at Jekyll Island Golf Club’s Great Dunes course. It’s the kind of finish that doesn’t happen by accident, three players from the same program landing on the exact same number in a field of twenty-eight.

A Three-Way Tie for Third
Brisebois and De Leon each opened with a 74 before backing it up with a 75 in the final round, while Murphy took the opposite path, carding a 75 in round one and the low round of the group, a 74, to close it out. All three finished at 149, just one stroke behind Coley Cassedy’s solo second at +4 and four back of winner Siyolo Joseph, who closed at +3. A three-way tie for third from the same academy means three different golfers, with three different swings and three different game plans, all executed well enough on the same two days to land on the same number.
JPGA Fills Out the Leaderboard
The tie for third came inside a much deeper JPGA showing in the Boys 16-18 division. Between Brisebois, Murphy, De Leon, and the golfers below, JPGA had eleven of the twenty-eight players in the field this week. Eckols posted the low round of the JPGA group on day two, a 73, to climb into a tie for ninth after opening with an 82, the kind of turnaround that shows up when a golfer resets between rounds instead of carrying a bad day into the next one.
Ben Mac Adds a Top Finish in Boys 14-15
JPGA’s week at Jekyll Island wasn’t limited to the 16-18 division. In Boys 14-15, Ben Mac finished tied for sixth at +33, carding rounds of 92 and 85 for a total of 177 in a ten-player field. The seven-stroke improvement from round one to round two mirrors what we saw across the 16-18 group this week, golfers adjusting mid-tournament instead of letting one tough round decide the whole week.
Two Rounds at Great Dunes
Jekyll Island Golf Club’s Great Dunes course played to a par 72 across both rounds, 6,799 yards from the tees used in the Boys 16-18 and 14-15 divisions. Siyolo Joseph’s winning total of +3 was the only score inside single digits over par, a sign of how demanding the course played over 36 holes. The Boys 16-18 field pulled well beyond the Southeast too, with competitors from Antigua and Barbuda, Panama, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Egypt, and Spain alongside golfers from more than a dozen U.S. states, exactly the kind of depth that makes finishing inside the top three, let alone three players doing it together, mean something.
